History of Preston Church

The church dates from the 13th century, the sturdy tower and elegant bell-cote added in the 14th and 15th centuries.

The simple interior has escaped later additions and is notable for the piscinas in each transept, as well as in the sanctuary, indicating that at one time there would have been three altars in the church.

There are also "squints" enabling worshippers on each side to see the celebrant at the high altar.

The stained glass windows are dedicated to past benefactors.

The pulpit is finely carved and the date of the ancient font is unknown.
